Cabbage appetizer

Starter - Brazil

You'll need:

(For 4 persons)


small Savoy cabbage

cut in strips

100 g

streaky bacon

cut into small pieces

1/2 teaspoon

sesame oil

2 tablespoons

olive oil


finely diced onion


finely chopped garlic cloves

1/2 bunch


1/8 - 1/4 L

chicken broth

2 leaves

gelatine, soaked in cold water

Salt and pepper

Our tip

The dish can be prepared on the previous day.


  • Step 1

    Heat the bacon, onion and garlic in a large frying pan, add the oil and cabbage and continue heating at medium heat for 5-7 minutes.

  • Step 2

    Add the broth, continue cooking and add the parsley.

  • Step 3

    Remove from the stove, add the squeezed out gelatine and mix well.

  • Step 4

    Portion into deep plates and cool in the fridge for 20-25 minutes before serving with toast.
